Ham - Radio

When I was about 12 I started to develop an interest in Amateur Radio. A year later I built the first "0V1" and became active as an SWL.

In 1968 I passed the exam and received the callsign DC6MJ (license for VHF/UHF only) which I upgraded to the "full shortwave license" DK7HN in 1972.

Whilst living in Africa I obtained the call signs: 5V7JS, 5Z4OD and operated in Ghana as 9G1JX for 12 years. During this time I was quite active and took part in a number of contests.

When returning to Germany in 1987 I finally settled in Spaichingen, a small town of about 12,000 inhabitants east of the Black Forest.
